Illustration for the story. Not a photo from a visit we made.
Farm Rescue, Horace, North Dakota. They help farm and ranch families in crisis: planting, haying, harvesting, hauling, and feeding livestock when injury, illness, or a natural disaster knocks a family down. It is hard to ask. They still show up. $150 went to that work. The pack showed up.
- What they built
- Farm Rescue helps farm and ranch families in crisis. Volunteers plant, hay, harvest, haul hay and grain, and feed livestock when a family is hit by a major injury, illness, or natural disaster. Midwest. They call it calling in the cavalry. Proud people. Hard to ask. The crew still goes.
- What hit them
- The crop and the cattle keep their own calendar. If someone is in a hospital, the field does not wait.
- Who depends on this
- The family on that land, the season in the ground, and neighbors who would otherwise have to choose between a job and a combine.
- The money
$150
- Gift to Farm Rescue (general)$150
We did not earmark a single family. Their work is already that specific.
- Gift to Farm Rescue (general)$150
- Success in 30 days
- Volunteers still going out this season. The collector card is how the pack commemorates the gift.
- How they show the pack
- Public charity: farmrescue.org, real farm families on their site, a phone number. No patient’s face required.
- Other help
- They run on volunteers and benefits. This was one gift, not a campaign.
- Thanks / faith
- Work first. Then the story.
- Proof notes
- Public charity. Funded. The field photo is an illustration, not a family we visited. Collector card BP-02 commemorates the gift.
Follow-ups
The pack and the person both get a line. The story is not done when the money leaves.
The pack · Sep 2, 2026
The pack sent $150. We understood the cause: if a farmer is in a hospital, the field still has to come in.
The pack · Sep 2, 2026
Cut collector card BP-02. A keep for the pack.
The keep
Collector card
This is not the donation. The pack cuts a card when the work is done, so we can commemorate it. Later these go out as NFTs to donors and volunteers.
