Farm Rescue, Horace, North Dakota. They help farm and ranch families in crisis: planting, haying, harvesting, hauling, and feeding livestock when injury, illness, or a natural disaster knocks a family down. It is hard to ask. They still show up. $150 went to that work. The pack showed up.

What they built

Farm Rescue helps farm and ranch families in crisis. Volunteers plant, hay, harvest, haul hay and grain, and feed livestock when a family is hit by a major injury, illness, or natural disaster. Midwest. They call it calling in the cavalry. Proud people. Hard to ask. The crew still goes.

What hit them

The crop and the cattle keep their own calendar. If someone is in a hospital, the field does not wait.

Who depends on this

The family on that land, the season in the ground, and neighbors who would otherwise have to choose between a job and a combine.
